Skale Labs has partnered with DFZ Labs, the team behind NFT collection Deadfellaz to launch new TCG Death Touch on Skale’s gas-free Ethereum scaling blockchain.
Building on the foundation of Deadfellaz’s 6,000 strong collector community, also known as the Horde, Death Touch is aiming to gain a mainstream audience by launching via mobile. Although not many details have been revealed yet, the launch is set for Q1 2025.
As for Deadfellaz, the OG NFT collection was initially launched on Ethereum in August 2021 by co-founders Psych and Betty. Some of the early adopters included a group of celebrities such as Reese Witherspoon, Steve Aoki, Bill Murray and Alexis Ohanian.
In terms of Skale’s gaming ecosystem, it currently comprises over 150 in-development games. The news comes on the heels of the company’s partnership with Atari founder Nolan Bushnell. His game tournament platform Moxy recently announced it’s looking to integrate on Skale.
Skale Labs chief marketing and growth officer Andrew Saunders commented, “I couldn’t be more excited to bring an iconic web3 IP into the SKALE ecosystem. Deadfellaz was also my first PFP NFT, so as a community member of three years, it’s exciting to see founders I have personally believed in from the start, continue to build in the right direction.”
Deadfellaz co-founder Psych added, “Deadfellaz has always been pushing at the forefront of interactive storytelling & gamification. This endeavor has been further bolstered by our partnership with SKALE, as their gas-free structure will enable us to grow this F2P title in a way that makes sense for our web3 gamers, competitive gamers & the average casual gamer.”
