As part of its cross-cultural mainstream mission, Pudgy Penguins parent company Igloo has announced a collaboration with Dreamworks Animation’s Kung Fu Panda.
The news comes at the end of a strategically significant year for the company, one which has seen the Pudgy Penguins IP collaborate with the likes of Roblox game Steal A Brainrot and US car racing organization NASCAR.
In August, its anticipated mobile game Pudgy Party co-launched with Mythical Games, launched globally via app stores, reaching a major milestone by hitting 1 million downloads in just under a month.
Starting out as a 8,888-strong NFT collection on Ethereum back in 2021, Pudgy Penguins quickly became a popular cross-media IP after it was bought by Luca Netz in 2022.
Fast-forward to today, it’s expanded into physical toys, web2 and web3 games, and now a partnership with Dreamworks.
Unlike most other global game IPs, Pudgy Penguins is backed by the PENGU token, which launched at the end of 2024. Its price trajectory seems largely unmoved by the Kung Fu Panda announcement, with the token down 25% in the last seven days.
Overall, it’s down 76% since its all-time high at launch, but up 340% since its all-time low.
