This list is organized in alphabetical order.
- Craft World – Voya Games, TBC
Idle games are a key mobile genre but one that hasn’t yet seen much success in terms of blockchain. That could be about to change with the first release from Voya Games.
For one thing, Voya’s CEO Oliver Löffler was a co-founder at Kolibri Games, which launched idle mobile games including Idle Mine Tycoon and was acquired by Ubisoft in a deal worth $180 million. For another, the Berlin-based developer has been working on its debut release Craft World since 2022, which was when it launched its first NFTs under the name Angry Dynomites.
During 2024, the game has been available via browser and mobile in open beta on testnet, with players creating complex resources in order to collaboratively construct masterpiece items, including some from other projects, which have rewarded players with token airdrops.
In 2025, Craft World is due to get its official release, including the announcement of which blockchain it will deploy on.

- Dragginz – Dragginz, ICP
Created by the team behind 1990’s hit Neopets, Dragginz is the attempt to build a PC-based 3D fantasy MMORPG that’s fully onchain via the ICP blockchain.
Still in its early stages of development, during 2024 the team has released glimpses into the Dragginz game world, and is now working on its first playable. Emphasising how early it is, the team says major features will not be in place for this launch, however.
In terms of gameplay, Dragginz is based on a simple game loop where a fantasy character has the job of hatching and looking after an evolvable baby Draggin. Additional features include crafting and trading. But more than just a game, Dragginz will also be released with its own Blockworld sandbox game editor so players can create their own environments.

- EVE Frontier – CCP Games, Redstone
Now available in a (paid) closed alpha version, EVE Frontier is nothing less than CCP Games’ attempt to rebuild its classic space MMORPG using blockchain and other open source technologies.
For while CCP Games is currently the main developer of content, the point of EVE Frontier is that anyone will have the same access to its technology and be able to build their own assets and logic. That stated, this is a game that will likely be in development for many years.

- FIFA Rivals – Mythical Games, Mythos
One of the surprise announcements of 2024, FIFA Rivals will see the playbook created by mobile sports game NFL Rivals expanded to soccer. In this manner, Mythical Games expects to leverage the blockchain-enabled trading of fully licensed player NFTs using its Mythos chain, which doesn’t require any blockchain knowledge from users.
To-date, NFL Rivals has been downloaded 6 million times with over $10 million in lifetime NFT trading volume. Given the global market for soccer, the goal for FIFA Rivals must be to increase those numbers ten-fold.

- Forgotten Runiverse – Bisonic Inc, Ronin
Joining the growing ensemble of games on Sky Mavis’ Ronin blockchain, Forgotten Runiverse announced its migration from Arbitrum in 2024. Developed by Bisonic, the pixel-art fantasy MMORPG was incepted in 2021, and is based around Magic Machine’s Forgotten Runes Wizard’s Cult franchise.
Although inspired by the likes of Runescape, Chrono Trigger and Stardew Valley, Forgotten Runiverse stands out with its web3 features in the form of player-owned land NFTs. Each of these plots can be customized to enhance its value and yield. Other key features include a creature collection mode through which players can gather rare treasures plus deep crafting systems, used to forge spells, weapons, armor and buildings.
No NFTs will be required to play the game, which is set to roll out early access during Q1 2025. You can currently wishlist the game via Epic Games Store.

- MapleStory Universe – Nexon, Avalanche
When it comes to sheer ambition, no blockchain game can match MapleStory Universe. For one thing, MapleStory is South Korean publisher Nexon’s prime gaming IP; a 20-year-old MMORPG that’s generated billions of dollars of revenue.
But more than just remaking the 2D RPG using its own blockchain that’s based on Avalanche, Nexon has also decided to build a complete ecosystem, hence the ‘Universe’ part. This means that as well as a PC and a mobile version of the game, there’s also the ability for everyone to generate their own user content, while developers get the advanced ability to plug into the platform’s SDK to build new apps and games using the underlying assets.
Of course, this sort of ambition isn’t fulfilled quickly. Announced in 2023, MapleStory Universe is still very much in the building stages, although it did launch the first of its game’s closed alpha playable Pioneer events in 2024.

- Neo Olympus – Laguna Labs, B3
From the team behind Crypto Unicorns comes Neo Olympus, a fully onchain strategy game, which combines a short hardcore crypto-first pre-launch event with an accessible resource-based tactics game.
Neo Olympus starts with its Prime Core mint during which 7,777 core NFTs are created and randomly reset by players as they optimize their long term strategy in terms of the in-game resources they want to create.
This happens through a Realm Forge, which produces resources based on its Prime Cores, as well as emitting the main OLY token and Realm Shards, which are the game lands players will fight over. Once fully levelled-up, Forges also create a Summoning Altar, through which players spend OLY to create monster and hero characters.
Underpinning this activity is a tightly controlled economy, with OLY tokens being given out as rewards for NFT ownership and gameplay success, but also spent to boost performance.

- Wildcard – Playful Studios, Polygon
Since its inception, Wildcard has been one of the most anticipated blockchain-enabled games due to its high-profile co-CEO Paul Bettner and his Playful Studios team. In terms of the game itself, Wildcard is an esports-centric action arena deck-builder. With its NFTs on Ethereum, the game is set to deploy on Polygon. It’s undergone a series of public playtests, but has no set launch date yet.
In addition, Playful has also been working on its community streaming platform Thousands. Described as a new form of digital arena designed to bring Wildcard – and other third-party games – to more players and spectators, Thousands includes features such as real-time interactions between its audience and the matches they’re watching live in the arena.
