More than $4 billion in crypto shorts liquidated over two days
The headline number kept moving. Bearish bets had already lost a record $3 billion as Bitcoin cleared $71,000, and by the following morning price was pushing toward $80,000 with liquidations approaching $4 billion. That puts Bitcoin up roughly 24% on the week, the strongest stretch since 2023. The ETF flows tell a similar story, with $606 million into Bitcoin products on Thursday following more than $500 million the day before, and Ether ETFs adding $221 million, which is substantial relative to total inflows. Taken together, it’s a fairly emphatic set of numbers for anyone arguing the bottom is in.
