These days in Las Vegas the Bitcoin 2026 conference is taking place.
Eric Trump, son of Donald Trump and board member of both World Liberty Financial and American Bitcoin, also took part in this conference.
Yesterday, during his speech, he said that in his opinion Bitcoin is experiencing its “best period ever”.
Eric Trump at Bitcoin 2026
Eric Trump’s speech at the Bitcoin 2026 conference in Las Vegas lasted about half an hour.
He was interviewed by Eric Balchunas of Bloomberg together with John Koudounis of Calamos Investments.
First, they discussed the integration of Bitcoin within traditional finance.
They highlighted the significant growth of Bitcoin ETFs, which have attracted around 60 billion dollars in 2 and a half years, setting new records. According to Trump, this inflow of capital, together with the entry of major financial institutions such as Morgan Stanley, signals the growing adoption of Bitcoin by the general public.
However, they also added that this is only the beginning of Bitcoin’s growth.
By comparing this figure with the immense wealth managed by financial advisors, estimated at 146 trillion dollars, and with the intergenerational transfer of wealth that is expected to exceed 124 trillion dollars, if only a small part of this money were to be allocated to investments in Bitcoin, the latter would still have enormous potential for future capital allocations.
They also pointed out that there is a rapid change of opinion underway among institutional investors towards Bitcoin.
The fact is that the supply of BTC is limited, and is further constrained by the inevitable loss of tokens and by a growing tendency to hold Bitcoin in the long term rather than sell it in the short term. Even large institutional investors, and even governments, are now becoming aware of this.
At this point, the adoption of Bitcoin is shifting from simple acceptance to strategic allocation.
For example, Eric Trump reports that conversations with major sovereign funds have shifted from the mere question of whether to buy Bitcoin or not, to determining the percentage of their portfolios to allocate to BTC.
The evolution of the scenario
However, topics related to the challenge of making Bitcoin accessible to the common person were also addressed.
The idea is to highlight Bitcoin’s potential as a hedge against currency devaluation and to compare it with traditional assets. In a global context characterized by unstable currencies, Bitcoin could offer a more reliable and accessible store of value and means of exchange, even for those living in strong economies such as the United States.
However, the interface and user experience of crypto tools will need to be improved, since they still consider the use of current tools to be quite difficult.
The goal will be to make interaction with Bitcoin as simple as using everyday applications like Dunkin’ Donuts or Amazon. In addition, they expect financial institutions with proven experience in creating intuitive interfaces to play a crucial role in simplifying the transition from traditional finance to decentralized finance (DeFi).
For example, the introduction of so-called “buffer ETFs” is presented precisely as a potential “gateway” for risk-averse investors (and in particular boomers) to gain exposure to Bitcoin. These are products that also offer protection against losses, thus limiting potential downside while at the same time allowing participation in upside movements.
The inevitability of Bitcoin’s growth
Perhaps, however, the most interesting things were said during the last part of this speech.
The speakers in fact expressed their firm belief that Bitcoin’s upward trajectory is unstoppable, like that of a train still in the acceleration phase.
They pointed to favorable legislation, government support and global adoption as key factors.
They also believe that Bitcoin has now become too important and influential to be contained, regardless of political changes.
They even hypothesized using Bitcoin as a hedge against excessive public spending and inflation, given that the money supply has doubled in recent years. At this point they also recalled the possibility that Bitcoin could be included in strategic reserves.
Both speakers (Trump and Koudounis) are very optimistic about the future price of Bitcoin: they stated, independently of each other, that one day the price of Bitcoin could even reach one million dollars. They also expressed strong conviction regarding this hypothesis, considering the current market as only the initial phase of this asset class.
