If Taylor Swift started selling early access to her tweets, nobody would frame it as a market integrity issue, even though her posts move markets too. Ten years ago, someone typing on their phone couldn’t move markets. Now they can. And tiered access already exists everywhere, Bloomberg terminals cost tens of thousands for faster news, exchanges bifurcate data, Jane Street gets better access because it provides liquidity. Spend $10,000 at a store and get a discount, nobody calls that unfair.
