Stablecoins let you hold value in crypto without the volatility. USDC, USDT, DAI, and euro-backed stables all work with Ledger Wallet. The same stablecoin can exist on different networks: Ethereum, Polygon, Tron, BNB Chain, and more.
In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to:
– Choose the right network for your stablecoins
– Add stablecoins (like USDC on Ethereum) to Ledger Wallet
– Understand gas fees and which native coin you need for each network
– Swap, earn rewards, and spend stablecoins with the Ledger CL Card
Before you start, make sure your Ledger signer is running the latest Ledger OS and you have the latest version of Ledger Wallet installed.
You’ll need the blockchain app for the relevant network installed on your Ledger signer (Ethereum for USDC on Ethereum, Tron for USDT on Tron, etc.).
Key rule: to send any stablecoin, you need a small amount of the network’s native coin (ETH, TRX, BNB) in the same account to cover the transaction fee. Without it, the transaction won’t go through.
