Ledger unveiled Ledger Atom, its first device built to run everyday apps, at its Op3n 2026 event on Oct. 15, opening reservations at $849 for a product the company expects to deliver in 2027.
CEO Pascal Gauthier said customers had long asked the company for a Ledger phone. “Today, we answer. Not with another phone. With something new,” he wrote.
Ledger’s product page describes Atom as data-only: it uses 4G and 5G networks for data but cannot place cellular calls, send SMS or reach emergency services.

Two Systems, One Screen
In a post on the device’s design, CTO Charles Guillemet said Atom runs a standard operating system built on the Android Open Source Project on its main processor, while Ledger OS runs separately on a secure chip. A dedicated circuit called an FPGA, controlled by Ledger OS, moves the display into Secure Mode whenever the user has something to approve.
“The screen is the most important piece of Ledger Atom, because many of the worst attacks work by faking what you see,” Guillemet wrote.
In the same post, Guillemet described an “active shield” around the device’s secure zone, which he wrote is designed to detect tampering before a unit reaches its owner. A hardware Privacy Switch cuts power to the camera and microphone.
The launch came the same day Ledger published its account of a hardware implant attack, in which it said criminals fitted genuine devices with hidden components that captured recovery phrases and sold them through Southeast Asian resellers. “There was no flaw in Ledger’s chip, operating system or servers,” the company wrote, adding that it was working on further protections at the product level. Ledger’s Atom announcements do not mention the incident.
Partners and Pricing
Solana Mobile named Ledger its first hardware expansion partner, and the Seeker app will be preinstalled on every Atom, according to Ledger’s press release. Gauthier said Ledger is exploring integrations with Kraken parent Payward, counts UAE firm Cyber50 as a launch partner and has named Persona its first identity partner.
Atom also supports Ledger Agent Intent, which sends AI agent requests to the user for physical approval on a Ledger signer. “Agents propose. You approve. Your Ledger signer enforces,” Ledger posted on X. The company said the feature is available now on compatible signers.
Founders Edition reservations require a fully refundable $100 deposit, and the press release prices orders placed after launch at $899. Gauthier’s post estimates delivery in the second quarter of 2027, while the press release and product page say summer 2027. Delivery depends on product certifications, including from the FCC in the U.S., and Ledger says buyers are reserving a device still in development whose specifications and price may change.
