Robinhood plans to bring Ripple’s dollar stablecoin, RLUSD, into institutional settlement on the XRP Ledger and to put its corporate treasury on Ripple software, Ripple announced on Tuesday.
According to the release, RLUSD is already live on Robinhood Chain and on Bitstamp by Robinhood, the global exchange Robinhood finished buying in June 2025. Ripple said the token should reach the main Robinhood app later this year. It did not give a launch date or list the countries where app users would get access.
On the XRP Ledger, RLUSD will be available for institutional settlement to both Robinhood and Bitstamp, according to the release, which tied the move to Bitstamp’s institutional growth.
“Utility is what moves stablecoins forward,” Johann Kerbrat, senior vice president and general manager of Robinhood Crypto and International, said in the only Robinhood comment in Ripple’s release.

Treasury and Financing
The second piece is internal. Ripple said Robinhood will adopt Ripple Treasury for its treasury operations worldwide, including payments, intercompany netting, forecasting of cash flows, risk management, and handling of cash and liquidity.
The third piece builds on work the two companies already did together. Ripple Prime, as Ripple renamed prime broker Hidden Road after closing its purchase of the firm in October 2025, now offers Bitstamp lending and margin financing on about 20 digital assets, according to the release. Ripple Prime clients can also trade spot on Bitstamp, and Ripple said Prime will add support for perpetual futures there later in the year.
Monica Long, Ripple’s president, said the partnership “reflects growing institutional demand for integrated solutions that support both customer-facing offerings and core financial operations.”
RLUSD’s Busy Week
RLUSD, which launched in December 2024, carried a market capitalization of about $2.62 billion on Wednesday, CoinGecko data show. Robinhood reported 28.7 million funded customers in its third-quarter results, which Unchained covered on Tuesday.
The deal landed during a run of RLUSD news. Ripple won final federal approval for a national trust bank to manage the stablecoin’s reserves, and Moody’s assigned RLUSD an A2 deposit rating. Separately, BNY began custodying XRP for institutional clients and, with Ripple, plans to let its customers mint and redeem RLUSD inside the bank, pending final approvals and with no timeline given.
