As it prepares for its early access launch in Q1 2025, Forgotten Runiverse has rolled out playtest event Crash the Runiverse, which encourages players to stress test the servers to their limit.
Described by the developer as an event “all about pushing our infrastructure to ensure everything is stable for our Global Live Service launch”, the browser-based test did in fact generate so much activity that the servers had to be shut down within an hour of the test going live as the system was overwhelmed.
Regardless of the outcome however, players were ensured they would be rewarded from the forthcoming 21 trillion Quanta airdrop. Quanta is Forgotten Runivere’s in-game currency that will later be redeemable for its ecosystem token XP. Apart from Quanta, four mintable exclusive cosmetic armor sets are also available, exclusively to this playtest, which runs until 17th January.
As for the Quanta, it’s set to be distributed when Forgotten Runiverse releases its early access in Q1 2025. Players from previous events will also be eligible to claim Quanta.
One of the most anticipated blockchain games in 2025, Forgotten Runiverse is a pixel-art fantasy MMORPG which migrated from Arbitrum to Ronin in 2024.
