The US hits $40 trillion by the end of this year. Put another way, that’s $20 billion a day, and about $120,000 of debt for every American. And it’s still climbing by $200 per person per day. As Jeff puts it, you and I just sitting here, our debt grows $200 a day, roughly a budget for eating, all happening invisibly in the background. The real question is what actually stops it.
