There’s a bill in New York, and others around the country, that would make it illegal for a chatbot to give legal or medical advice, and right now they’re far too unpopular to pass
But that changes when AI actually starts taking jobs, and lawyers and doctors begin losing work, because lawyers are very good at getting laws passed, so the groups most disenfranchised by AI will strike back through legislation and win in some places, even as everyone else says keep your hands off my AI
